Lockville Park

Although I have driven past the ruins of the locks countless times in my life, until a few days ago I’d never stopped.

While in school I never paid much attention to history, but in real life it is interesting.

According to a Fairfield County website, Lockville was the site of seven locks along the Ohio-Erie Canal.  This site says there are three sets of intact locks, 11, 12 and 13, but it looked like one to me.

There is also a covered bridge which was relocated to Lockville Park years ago.

This is a beautiful park, and conveniently located off Route 33 on Pickerington Road.
